SCHEDULE TEST DRIVE

New for 2018

The 2018 Acura RLX sheds its old grille and replaces it with the new Acura diamond pentagon grille that appeared on the 2017 MDX. The hood, wheels, LED taillights, dual exhaust finishers, and rear diffuser also received a redesign, while inside, the RLX sports a number of upgraded materials, redesigned seats featuring contrast piping and stitching, and a new Espresso interior color option. A new 10-speed automatic transmission supports the standard 3.5-liter V6 (non-hybrid) engine. Brilliant Red Metallic and Majestic Black Pearl debut as new paint offerings, too.

Overview

The redesigned 2018 Acura RLX is a reflection of the brand’s new Precision Crafted Performance design direction, which puts particular emphasis on the flagship sedan's design and performance. Simply put, the RLX is Acura’s most sophisticated and best-performing sedan ever, a nod to the direction the automaker is heading overall.

Super Handling All-Wheel Drive™ technology—shared with the NSX supercar—creates a powerful and precise driving experience that’s unmatched in the luxury sedan segment. Acura has also simplified the RLX trim structure, making the brand’s sport hybrid technology more desirable and accessible by streamlining the offering to two well-equipped options.

The Perfect Ride for…

Those looking for a top-of-the-line luxury sports car with engaging exterior styling, an opulent interior, and a host of standard features. The RLX features an efficient and speedy hybrid powertrain option that's also perfect for anyone looking to go green.

Drive & Handling

The 2018 RLX is powered by a standard 3.5-liter V6 that produces an impressive 310 horsepower and 272 pound-feet of torque. It comes mated to the automaker’s new 10-speed automatic that directs power to an all-wheel-drive system.

Drivers will also have the option to select the Sport Hybrid model with Acura’s Super Handling All-Wheel Drive™. The model utilizes a hybrid system that pairs the standard V6 with an electric motor. It’s backed by a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and adds an additional 46 horsepower. Two more rear electric motors, each rated at 36 horsepower, power the rear wheels for a total output of 377 horsepower and 341 pound-feet of torque.

Key Features

AcuraWatch™

The 2018 RLX features the unique AcuraWatch™ technology suite as standard equipment. The safety suite includes a host of driver assistance features, including Forward Collison Warning and Lane Keeping Assist, but also adds Traffic Jam Assistant, a feature that works with adaptive cruise control to keep the sedan in its lane and a set distance to the vehicle in front.

Krell Audio System

An Acura wouldn’t be an Acura without a Krell Audio System. Krell, the leader in high-performance music and home theater systems, offers an audio system that replicates the same high-end performance and three-dimensional sound found in its home theater systems. Drivers will receive an unparalleled sound experience (one that rivals concert halls) that complements the luxurious interior of the 2018 RLX.

Alternative Options

Those on the lookout for something a little bigger should consider the Acura RDX, a five-door, five-seat luxury compact SUV. A stylish, capable crossover that sports an upscale design that is equal parts sophisticated and sporty, the RDX delivers on all fronts. Looking for something a little sportier? Consider the 2018 NSX. Designed to be just as approachable and exhilarating as the original, the new NSX also features a sophisticated hybrid powertrain and all-wheel drive system.
