2020 Acura TLX
Overview
The 2020 TLX represents a focused vision for Acura’s renowned midsize sedan, one that emphasizes a purposeful luxury design and a driving experience elevated by the latest in innovative tech features.
The TLX shares several key features with the resurrected NSX, including the Integrated Dynamics System, dual-clutch transmission, and exclusive torque-vectoring on models with Acura’s Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD®).
The exterior exudes performance and a more aggressively sporty look, while the interior showcases Acura’s restyled Alcantara® and perforated leather seats. Contrast stitching and piping subtly enhance the interior, updating the traditional Acura aesthetic for a new generation.
In addition to the base TLX, the 2020 model is available with the choice of three different packages: Technology, Advance, and the high-performing A-SPEC.
The Perfect Ride for…
Drivers looking for a modern, undeniably attractive alternative to the dominant German sports sedans will love how Acura incorporates the latest technology and some smart design elements to create a truly competitive offering. The TLX also marks a return to the edgier designs of classic models like the Legend and the original 1991 NSX.
Drive & Handling
The 2020 Acura TLX is available with your choice of two thrilling engines. The standard mill is a 2.4L inline-4 that cranks out 206 horsepower and 182 pound-feet of torque, paired with the industry’s first eight-speed dual-clutch transmission with a torque converter. Precision All-Wheel Steer™ (P-AWS®) also comes standard, grounding the vehicle with responsive handling and control. The base TLX is EPA-rated at 27 mpg combined (23 mpg city/33 mpg highway).*
The TLX is also available with a 3.5L V6 that delivers 290 horsepower with a nine-speed push-button automatic transmission and either P-AWS® or SH-AWD®. The engine incorporates Intelligent Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control (i-VTEC®) for an impressive fuel economy.
Key Features
On Demand Multi-Use Display 2.0
The 2020 TLX is the first Acura model to feature the redesigned On Demand Multi-Use Display™ (ODMD) touchscreen, which features clearer displays and a 30 percent quicker screen response. The bottom band provides a comprehensive view of the climate control system, while the rest of the display provides access to audio, navigation, and smartphone functionality as available.
A-SPEC Package
2020 TLX V6 models are available with an A-SPEC package inspired by the Acura Precision Concept and NSX. Highlights include a dark chrome Diamond Pentagon Grille, stunning red leather interior, and 19-inch rims. Black window trim, round dual exhaust outlets, a gloss black rear spoiler, and A-SPEC badging on the front fender and rear decklids further accentuate the impressive overall effect.
Alternative Options
For those looking for a more compact luxury sedan, the Acura ILX offers the best in interior comfort and technology, as well as an efficient and nimble powertrain, in a smaller package and entry-level price tag. However, if you need Acura-level luxury that can climb mountains and carry all of your friends on that overnight camping trip, then look to the Acura MDX, the indefatigable luxury SUV with seating for seven.
