Drive and Handling
Motivation for the 2022 Acura NSX Type S comes in the form of a twin-turbocharged 3.5L V6 engine combined with the advanced Sport Hybrid 3-Motor System. This unique hybrid drivetrain consists of two electric motors powering the front wheels and a third electric motor that works in conjunction with the 3.5L mill. The end result is a total output of 600 horsepower and 492 pound-feet of torque. A 9-speed dual-clutch transmission helps direct the power and torque where it’s needed most. The NSX Type S benefits from four available drive modes, including a Quiet mode that reduces engine noise while allowing the hybrid supercar to operate in pure electric mode for longer periods.
A re-tuned active damper system allows for sharper handling and more precise control when cornering. The SH-AWD system offers direct yaw control for a more responsive driving experience on the open road or on the track. An all-new 5-spoke forged wheel design works in concert with a widened track for enhanced lateral g-force performance. The NSX Type S also features some serious stopping power courtesy of its standard 2-piece brake rotors with beefy Brembo 6-piston monoblock calipers.

The available Lightweight Package further enhances the performance of the 2022 Acura NSX Type S with a host of motorsport-focused upgrades. Carbon-ceramic brake rotors with up to four caliper color options help improve the supercar’s braking capabilities along with its unmistakable looks. A carbon-fiber engine cover adds lightness as well as visual appeal. The Carbon Fiber Interior Sport Package is also included, which adds various carbon fiber details along with a low meter visor and racing-inspired steering wheel.
