Acura Sparks Excitement with New EV Plans

Fully electric and hybrid vehicles have been on the rise recently, with nearly every major automaker announcing upcoming models powered by electric powertrains. Many have noticed, though, that Acura has seemed to be “behind the curve,” which is incredibly surprising, considering the brand’s dedication to fuel efficiency. However, that doesn’t mean that Acura hasn’t been planning for an electrified future. The brand recently announced an EV concept, as well as some other exciting news about what we can expect from Acura in the EV market.

Acura Precision EV Concept

The first sign of an EV future is the Acura Precision EV Concept. This concept vehicle is a preview into the design language we can expect from Acura’s future EV models. Of course, we’re excited to see what kind of performance Acura’s EV drivetrains will be capable of. If the previous hybrid NSX is any indication, we’re in for a whole new level of Precision Based Performance.

Acura ARX-06

Acura isn’t just making electrified consumer cars. The automaker has also announced the ARX-06 prototype sports car. This powerful machine will debut at the Rolex 24 at Daytona in January 2023. The car will feature a 2.4-liter twin-turbocharged, V6 racing engine with a hybrid power unit. The ARX-06 features elements from past race-winning models, as well as some of the brand’s most advanced technology. The race track is such an important proving ground for the latest technologies, and the ARX-06 is the next great platform for this testing.

Acura ZDX & ZDX Type S

Possibly the most exciting announcement from Acura is the plan for an upcoming fully electric SUV. The model will be called the ZDX and it will be available for the 2024 model year. Co-developed by GM using the global EV platform, we expect the ZDX to be the electric embodiment of Precision Based Performance. The design language and key elements from the Acura Precision EV Concept will be seen on the new ZDX and there will also be a Type S variant, with an additional focus on performance and driver enjoyment.

Can’t wait for the latest EV model to come out? That’s ok! There are so many great Acura models that are incredibly efficient and will last for years to come. Contact the Hall Acura Virginia Beach team online today to learn more about all the amazing things coming from Acura soon!
